ALBANY, N.Y. — PISO, an Albany-based electric vehicle infrastructure and engineering firm, has relocated to a new, expanded headquarters in Colonie’s Clark Industrial Park, marking a significant milestone in the company’s growth following its role in a major electric vehicle (EV) fast-charging project at LaGuardia Airport.
The move comes as PISO continues to take on larger, more complex infrastructure projects across the Northeast and beyond. Previously based in Valatie, the company outgrew its former space as demand increased for its services in EV infrastructure, electrical engineering, and grid modernization.
The new facility includes expanded office space and a large warehouse, positioning PISO to scale operations, support additional staff, and manage the equipment and logistics required for major infrastructure installations.
“Projects like LaGuardia are a reflection of where the industry is heading and the level of work we’re preparing to support,” said John Doran, President of PISO. “Our move to Colonie allows us to grow with that demand and continue delivering on large-scale, high-impact projects.”
Supporting Major Infrastructure at LaGuardia Airport
PISO recently supported the installation of the first public EV fast-charging station at LaGuardia Airport, part of the EVolve NY network led by the New York Power Authority. The project includes 12 high-speed chargers capable of powering compatible EVs in as little as 30 minutes.
The installation represents the largest single bank of fast chargers in the EVolve NY network to date and contributes to the network’s milestone of more than 300 high-speed chargers installed statewide. The site expands access to reliable charging for rideshare drivers, taxis, airport employees, and travelers at one of the nation’s busiest transportation hubs.
PISO provided engineering expertise and infrastructure coordination to support the successful integration of the charging system within the complex operational environment of a major airport.
