PISO Staff Spotlight: Benny Tortorici, Senior Design Lead

Meet Benny Tortorici, PISO’s Senior Design Lead. Benny joined the PISO team just over two months ago, bringing an extensive background in EV infrastructure from his time at the New York Power Authority and Tesla. In his role, Benny tackles technical questions, conducts site visits, and designs EV charging sites, supporting the PISO team and its clients.

Blending Technical Expertise with Innovation

As Senior Design Lead, Benny works closely with clients and team members to ensure every project is designed for maximum efficiency and success. “I assist my team with various questions on different chargers, how I can design sites for the team or clients, and just anywhere that needs technical assistance,” Benny shares. His ability to navigate the technical complexities of EV infrastructure makes him a critical asset to PISO’s operations.

Passion for a Changing Energy Landscape

Benny is inspired by the fast-evolving nature of the EV industry and the opportunity to be part of something transformational. “EV is a changing world, and the opportunity to do something forward-thinking and futuristic, to change the energy landscape, is incredible,” Benny explains. He finds fulfillment in making an impact. Each time he passes a completed site he’s reminded of his contributions to the industry’s growth.

The Value & Legacy of a Strong Team

Benny was drawn to PISO because of its long-standing presence in the EV industry. “The thing that brought me here is that they’ve been at this for about 11 years,” he says. “Not a lot of EV infrastructure teams have been around that long, and that earns them a lot of credibility.” This deep industry experience allows PISO to stay ahead of the curve, working with vendors and clients to prepare for future advancements in EV technology.

Benny’s Life Off The Clock

When Benny isn’t designing EV sites or answering technical questions, he’s often on the soccer field. “I love soccer. It’s always held true for me,” Benny shares. Whether playing pickup games or following Italian soccer leagues, his passion for the sport keeps him active and energized.

Looking to the Future

Benny is excited about the future of EVs and PISO’s role in shaping the industry. “I think the future is EV,” Benny shares. “In ten years, I think you’ll see more EVs than gas engines, and charging will be much more common, even mindless.” He believes PISO excels at making the process seamless for clients, bridging the gap between current needs and future possibilities.
